CLB Coopers licenced under new ATOL accountancy scheme
North West accountancy & advisory firm, CLB Coopers, has been approved as a licenced practice under the new ATOL Reporting Accountants’ Scheme with its Partner, David Clift, registered as a licenced practitioner.
The ARA scheme, which came into effect on 1 April this year, has been introduced by the Civil Aviation Authority to help to improve the standards of ATOL reporting and to provide assurance of the accuracy of all financial information submitted on behalf of all ATOL licence holders.
Whilst the CAA has previously required all ATOL licence holders to submit returns which have been certificed by an accountant, only those practices licenced under the new scheme will now be able to do so.
David Clift, Partner at CLB Coopers, said, “The CAA will no longer accept returns which have been submitted by any practice not licenced under its new scheme.
We work with a number of ATOL holders operating in the travel industry, so becoming licenced under the new regime was vital to us being able to continue to give them the support they need. It also allows us to demonstrate our industry expertise and knowledge of the specific requirements of ATOL to those businesses looking to work with an accountancy practice with experience in this niche sector“.
