Clegg Construction appointed to £14m worth of new contracts in Yorkshire
Clegg Construction has secured two new contracts in Yorkshire worth over £14m.
This includes an £8m contract at Solly Street Sheffield for premium student accommodation provider Empiric, which owns and operates student accommodation nationwide.
This scheme comprises the design and construction of 107 student rooms in four separate blocks and is due for completion summer of next year ready for the 2017 student intake.
Clegg is also currently working on a £3.5m scheme for the University of Sheffield to provide an extension to its Casting Technology Institute, which will create the largest ceramic shell mould facility in Europe when completed.
Clegg’ second contract win is to deliver a £6.3m new headquarters building at Calder Park, Wakefield for OE Electrics, which designs and manufactures power and data distribution units across commercial sectors including office, education, leisure and healthcare.
This includes USB charging as well as providing support to stock exchanges around the world in order to keep them working in the case of power interruptions.
The new 65,000 sq ft building includes offices, research and development, advanced manufacturing and warehousing facilities and is scheduled to be complete early in 2017.
John Dixon, business development manager, said: “These latest appointments reflect our growing profile in the area and the diverse sectors in which we operate.
“It is also encouraging to see increased client confidence in the value and calibre of projects that we can deliver and we are confident of having further new contracts to announce in the near future.”
