Martin-Brooks sees domestic enquiries flood in

The number of new enquiries Sheffield roofing specialists, Martin-Brooks, receives from local homeowners has jumped by 25% in the first half of this year, partly due to recent heavy rainfall.

From January to June, the firm’s domestic team has also seen turnover rise by 10%, compared to the same months in 2015 and its conversion rate improve by 7% over the last three years.

Record early summer rainfall has resulted in Martin-Brooks accommodating a spate of small but urgent repairs to private properties. In addition, the number of residents contacting the firm to plan largescale roofing projects during the summer months has increased.

Andrew Wheadon, Martin-Brooks’ estimator, said: “We kicked off the year on a positive note, benefiting from the mild winter, but the level of enquiries we are receiving has gained momentum. Customer recommendation remains by far the most common way for us to attract new business and we are confident the quality of our work will see this upward trend continue.

“Due to the size of our team, we are able to address urgent repairs to private properties quickly, limiting the damage caused by major roof leaks. This is something homeowners value greatly, particularly during periods of sustained bad weather. We believe it is, in part, influencing our growing success in converting quotations into contracts, along with other factors, such as membership of the Competent Roofer scheme.”

Through its membership of the National Federation or Roofing Contractors (NFRC), Martin-Brooks joined the government-licensed Competent Roofer scheme in 2011 and was one of the first firms in South Yorkshire to gain accreditation. It guarantees all types of roof replacement carried out by registered contractors complies with current Building Regulations and requires companies undergo regular inspections.

The domestic services offered by Martin-Brooks range from new roofs to repairs and reroofs of all sizes. The firm is also listed on the NFRC’s heritage register. For more information, telephone (0114) 244 7720 or visit www.martin-brooks.co.uk
