Model Search crowns Bradford winners!

Ten aspiring models from Bradford district have won this year’s Model Search competition and will become the next generation of new faces for Kirkgate Shopping.

Held at the established retail destination on Sunday 5 June, Yorkshire’s modelling stars of the future took to the stage in the annual competition which received more than 300 entrants across four age categories.

The 10 winners were announced after the grand final and included Georgia Hird (17), Pollyanna Tait (13), Ayesha Mariya (9) and Lowen Newlone (5), who will feature on marketing materials and hoardings around the shopping centre and attend a professional photoshoot at Kirkgate Shopping on 9 July. Meanwhile Charlie Bedford (10) and Ayesha Mariva will join the books of Yorkshire-based agency DK Model and Casting for 12 months.

Model Search judges included Kirkgate Shopping’s Catherine Riley, Sue Smith and Siobhan Willis, alongside Saskia Vasey of DK Models and Casting.

Centre manager at Kirkgate Shopping, Catherine Riley, said: “We were thrilled to host Model Search for the 14th year and the level of entries really impressed the judging panel. The centre lends itself perfectly to this sort of interactive event and the crowds really got behind every candidate.”

Three scouting days were held at the historic shopping destination in spring before entrants were invited along to the heats in May where the judges selected the 87 youngsters aged from 5 to 16+ who attended the final event earlier this month.

“The final was a fabulous day where hundreds gathered to watch the finalists who will all have the opportunity to be the next generation of new faces for Kirkgate. We are entering an exciting new era as a shopping destination and the personalities, enthusiasm and professionalism of these young models is a perfect fit for the centre and all it represents.”
