Bupa acquires 145,000 sq ft regional HQ at MediaCityUK
Healthcare firm Bupa UK has signed a deal to acquire its new regional headquarters in Salford Quays.
The company is set to occupy The Regent Building at MediaCityUK. Currently under construction, the facility will provide Bupa with 145,000 sq ft of offices when complete.
Bupa pre-let the office building last year after signing a 15-year lease for the entire development in February 2015.
However, the company has now stepped up to acquire the site, with law firm Nabarro advising Bupa on the transaction.
The Nabarro team was headed up by real estate partner Mark Haywood with the assistance of partner Chris Hallam, who led on construction and infrastructure-related matters.
Nabarro partner Nathan Jansen and associate David Turner were also involved in the transaction.
Investment giant Peel Group, which owns MediaCityUK, was represented by corporate law firm Addleshaw Goddard.
Mark Haywood, the head of Nabarro’s offices in Manchester, said of the deal: “We were delighted to act for Bupa on the acquisition of its new regional headquarters in Manchester.
“We look forward to providing support throughout the development and construction of the site.”
