Escrick Business Park Appeals To Owner Occupiers

Essex based Sportsafe supplies sports and fitness equipment to schools, leisure centres, councils and businesses and has just opened its first base in the North of England after acquiring a two storey, 1400 square foot, building at S Harrison’s Escrick Business Park.

The expansion has already created three new jobs in the local area and the company plans to recruit 10 more people over the next 12 months.

All the offices at Escrick Business Park offer ultrafast fibre broadband and are available on freehold or leasehold terms. There’s also a try-before-you-buy arrangement where companies can lease space for a year and offset the rental cost against the purchase price, if they decide to buy.

Amin Dedhar, Finance Director at Sportsafe, explains: “This is the third regional office we have opened in the last three years, and when a new location forms a major part of our long-term strategic plans, it always makes sense to buy rather than rent. Plus, continued low interest rates make it a great time to borrow money meaning that buying property can often work out more cost-effective than renting it.

“We decided to focus our expansion in the York area because it offers easy access to most parts of the North of England and it’s close to the A1 and the national motorway network. We were surprised by the shortage of available stock for sale within a 10 mile radius of York, but as soon as we were introduced to Escrick Business Park we immediately knew it was ideal for us. The buildings are smart and modern, they are located within a superb rural setting, but still benefit from ultrafast broadband which is essential for us as we rely on high volume data transfers and video conferencing.”

Sportsafe is the 20th business to relocate to the park and its new property houses a dedicated division called Outdoor Spaces, which specialises in all types of outdoor sport and play equipment including artificial grass, fitness equipment, climbing walls, playground markings, flood lighting, long jump pits, and shelters.

Escrick Business Park is located immediately off the A19 York to Selby Road just outside the village of Escrick and provides excellent access to the M1, M62, A1 and the national motorway network. Over 150 people now work at the Park.
