RE:FIT For Purpose
Vital Energi are pleased to announce that they have been awarded a place on The National Framework for Energy Performance Contracting (RE:FIT) developed by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Local Partnerships (LP) and available for use nationally.
RE:FIT, the national energy efficiency programme for the public sector, has set up a new framework of 16 suppliers that will provide retrofit and energy generation measures to the public sector – to make their assets more energy efficient, cut bills through energy management and provide opportunities for income generation.
The Framework has the capacity to deliver £1.5bn of contracts during the 4 years the framework will be in place, covering universities, schools, NHS sites and government departments, amongst other organisations.
Retrofitting opportunities can include low carbon technologies such as LED lighting, new and upgraded boilers and insulation but under the RE:FIT framework companies carrying out the retrofitting work must guarantee the savings.
Director, Graeme Ponton explained, “This is an exciting framework which we qualified for after demonstrating our experience and expertise in all areas. We have a successful track record of helping public organisations reduce their energy usage, costs and carbon emissions, through guaranteed savings contracts, and I am confident that will continue now that we have successfully won a place on the RE:FIT Framework.”
Between Vital Energi and Vital Efficienci we have delivered generation solutions coupled with energy management measures providing guaranteed CO2 and financial savings. Five projects are currently realising these savings and 10 sites are currently under construction. These schemes contain a mixture of solutions including CHP, biomass, district heating, controls optimisation and lighting upgrades.
