Bury-based Garic makes a splash with ADM Regeneration water cannon deal

Construction site welfare product manufacturer Garic has secured a deal to supply its new spray cannons to demolition firm ADM Regeneration.

As part of the deal, Lymm-based ADM is now using the first cannon, known as an SC45, to suppress dust generated in the demolition of a former police building in Durham.

Garic, which is headquartered in Bury, is now the UK’s sole supplier of spray cannons from MB Dust Control, which manufactures the equipment in the Netherlands.

Garic’s cannon range encompasses 15 models, from heavy duty machines capable of spraying across distances of up to 100m, down to handheld units. Additionally, the firm supplies wall-mounted spray systems for internal use.

Mounted on a skid frame to aid positioning, the SC45 cannon can spray up to distances of 45m, binding airborne dust with a fog to make it fall safely to the ground.

Steve Booth, Garic’s head of business development (Global), said of the sale: “Our new dust cannon range is generating a lot of interest.

“We’ve got quite a few units being trialled with companies from a number of sectors including materials handling, ports and waste management but this our first sale to a demolition company.”

He continued: “We were confident the cannons would be popular once demolition and asbestos removal companies could see how extensive the range is and how effective they are – we have got off to a great start with ADM Regeneration’s order!”

Paul Cryer, ADM Regeneration’s demolition director, commented: “Garic’s range of spray cannons is exceptional, there’s something for virtually every type of project. Together we established that this mid-size cannon would be the most practical for us.

“This is a busy, confined site and it’s absolutely vital that our environmental precautions are top notch. We’ve got up to 45 operatives demolishing the structures and crushing the 25,000 m3 of arisings, as well as people living nearby and a school.”

Paul added: “We’re impressed, so much so we’re already looking at buying a couple more.”
