Spar to open in Chatham’s failed MyLocal store
The failed convinience chain MyLocal has had 7 stores acquired by the parent company of Spar, including the Chatham store.
Blakemore Retail, the parent company that owns the Spar brand have announced the acquisition of 7 MyLocal stores. The MyLocal brand was formed when Morrisons sold of their convinience chain in September 2015. The MyLocal company then went into administration on the 21st June 2016 and no buyer was found for the business. The stores belonging to the group have also been sold to the Co-Operative Group as well as Blakemore Retail.
It is not yet known when the Spar store will open but Blakemore have confirmed that all 7 of the stores they have purchased will be re-branded under the Spar fascia.
