Magnet attracted to larger space at Lingfield Point
LINGFIELD Point’s industrial offer for warehousing and logistics has shown it’s got a massive pull for regional businesses after Magnet increased its base six-fold.
Magnet already occupied a 12,000 sq ft space but has now taken a huge 76,000 sq ft unit on a long lease – which is great news for the Darlington business park.
Jonathan Simpson, of Connect Property North East, said: “The fact that Lingfield Point is so accessible to the region, with routes that connect to major roads make it an ideal logistics hub for Magnet.
“This letting represents the largest warehouse letting in the Tees Valley so far this year and follows quickly the recent letting of 25,000 sq ft to JLM Foods on the park.”
Simon Hay, Warehouse Operations Manager, said: “Magnet is a growing company and we needed to expand into a much bigger warehousing space in a convenient and easy to access location. This move is very important to our future so it was vital we took the right decision.
“Our original base at Lingfield Point gives us everything we need, with top class on-site facilities and extensive security. After looking around the region we could not find anywhere that came close - so we were delighted Lingfield could accommodate such a huge expansion.
“The new site represents a commitment by Magnet to continue to invest in Darlington and will create a fit for purpose facility to support our future growth strategy.”
Eddie Humphries, Lingfield Point Estate Manager, said: “There’s only one thing we love more than welcoming new customers and that’s seeing our existing firms grow and prosper like Magnet.
“The fact we have exemplary transport links – with road, rail, sea and air routes all within 30 minutes’ drive time - will be important to Magnet, along with the knowledge that we have a genuine understanding of what makes the logistics market move.
“At Lingfield Point we also offer superb security, 24 hour gatehouse and hub, gated entrances, vehicle recognition and extensive CCTV which are obviously vital to our customers.”
