Deliveroo rolls out UK-wide collaboration with major booze brands
London-headquartered Deliveroo has partnered with Majestic Wine and Brewdog to bring on-demand alcohol delivery to its platform.
Promising average delivery times of 20 minutes, the delivery startup will roll out the service UK-wide after a successful trial in London earlier in the year.
As well as the major alcohol brands, the firm has also signed up a number of independent wine merchants to the service who will be provided with a tablet to register and carry out orders which will then be picked up and delivered by one of Deliveroo’s fleet.
In an increasingly crowded market, the launch of its new booze delivery sees Deliveroo steal a march on some of its rivals, including US giant Uber which recently launched UberEATS and local competitors Jinn and Bevy, in staking a claim for dominance in the on-demand delivery sector.
It also marks another major coup for the on-demand startup, following the deal it signed with the Pizza Express chain in May which saw it take over all of the restaurant’s delivery service.
