Sovini Group named among UK’s safest organisations

The Merseyside-based Sovini Group has cemented its reputation as one of the safest organisations in the UK.

Sovini was named the best organisation in its sector and in the top five organisations UK-wide at the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2016.

Sovini surpassed the competition in the Public Service and Local Government sector and were presented with the award during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.

Phil Hutchinson, Sovini Head of HSEQ and Facilities Services, won the RoSPA Guardian Angel Award for his commitment to making Sovini a safe organisation for staff and customers alike.

Phil said: “The systems we have in place at Sovini help to ensure our customers and staff are safe at all times. Winning the RoSPA award is testament to the commitment to performance from everyone at Sovini and highlights the professionalism of the Group as a whole.”

The judges recognised Sovini’s overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for Sovini. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.

“This year was doubly special for our winners as their achievements were recognised as the RoSPA Awards celebrated its diamond anniversary, which is a ringing endorsement of the thousands of businesses and organisations that have committed to continuous improvement in accident and ill-health prevention.”

Last year Sovini, which incorporates not-for-profit organisations including One Vision Housing and commercial businesses such as Sovini Trade Supplies, won the RoSPA Gold and Best New Entry awards.
