Leeds craft beer and Indian street food restaurant to open Manchester venue
A pair of Yorkshire-based restaurateurs are to open a new outlet of their Indian street food restaurant in Manchester after finding success in Leeds city centre.
Mark Husak and Mayur Patel’s award-winning Bundobust restaurant is to open its second venue at Clayton House, 61 Piccadilly in the centre of Manchester after two successful years in the Mill Hill area of Leeds, and will bring 20 new jobs to the city.
The new 3,950 sq ft venue will seat 150 people, with the restaurant planning a £250k fit out to begin in July ahead of a September opening.
Following the announcement, Mark Husak was enthusiastic about the brand’s expansion and believes Bundobust can bring ‘something unique’ to the city’s thriving culinary scene.
He said: “Our expansion into Manchester is really exciting for us. There are already some great operators offering interesting Indian food and we’re looking forward to adding to exciting the Manchester scene and bringing something unique to the city.”
Founded in 2014, the restaurant offers a wide array of craft beers and ales, combined with a menu heavily influenced by India’s thriving street food scene.
Both Mark and and Mayur are experienced restauranteurs, with Mark drawing on his experience from Bradford’s Sparrow Bier Cafe and Mayur’s Drighlington’s Prashad vegetarian restaurant appearing as a finalist on Gordon Ramsay’s Great British Restaurant.
Bradford law firm Gordons advised Bundobust in the deal for their new venue and helped them seal a 15-year lease on the property, having also worked with the business for their Leeds venue.
Gordons’ commercial partner, Simon Mydlowski, added: “The expansion of Bundobust is testimony to the innovative vision of Mark and Mayur.
“Their concept has won them lots of fans in Yorkshire and I’m sure Manchester food-lovers will be just as enamoured and the restaurant will prove to be a resounding success.”
