Pine Court Housing celebrates 30 years in business

Pine Court Housing Association is celebrating its 30th year in business as a leading BME (Black minority ethnic) social landlord.

They marked the anniversary in style with an event at Matou Pan Asian restaurant at the Pier Head overlook the world famous Liverpool waterfront.

Formed in 1986, Pine Court Housing was originally established to provide quality homes and housing services for those in need, with a specific focus on the Chinese and South East Asian communities. Prior to their formation, there was a notable absence of Chinese and South-East Asian residents living in social housing in Merseyside.

The event was attended by Liverpool Councillors including Deputy Mayor Ann O’Byrne, Gary Millar, Peter Mitchell and George Davies from Wirral Council as well as representatives from the Liverpool Chinese Business Association.

Entertainment was provided by The Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu Friendship Association who performed a Chinese lion dance followed by a kung-fu demonstration. The lion dance is a traditional Chinese dance performed for good luck, as it is believed that the lion is an auspicious animal.

David Brown, Director of Operations for Pine Court said: “We are proud to be celebrating our 30th year providing homes to the Chinese community of Liverpool. We believe in creating inclusive and diverse communities and providing our customers with homes not just a place to live. We were honoured to be joined at Matou by local Councillors, business partners and our involved customers to celebrate this milestone.“
