Chartford Maintains New Homes Momentum
A TOTAL of 117 new homes were built and sold by Yorkshire independent house builder, Chartford Homes, Leeds, up to June 30th this year.
The homes, on eight separate sites in West Yorkshire, has given the award-winning house builder a £25.8m turnover in an extended 18-month company year.
Chartford Homes director, Neil Clark, says that the latest figures compare with the company’s 80 new homes built and sold in the 12 months to December 2014 and show that Chartford is maintaining momentum in finding and developing sites.
The homes built and sold during the latest period are on sites ranging from one to three acres and include three in Pudsey, totalling 31 homes; two in Farsley totalling 18 homes; one in Gildersome with 26 homes; an Alwoodley scheme with five homes and a 37-home development in Cookridge.
The homes, developed in partnerships with landowners and funders, range from two, to five, bedroom houses, for first-time buyers or those seeking larger luxury accommodation.
Neil Clark says: “We are pleased to have regenerated these sites and provided a variety of new homes at a time when they are badly needed in West Yorkshire.
“The number of homes built and sold confirm that we have maintained momentum from a period when the economy was growing more strongly in 2014. We see this continuing in the next 12 months but our strategy is to build fewer homes with a greater proportion at the higher end of the market. This will enable us to maintain turnover and increase profits.”
Meanwhile Chartford Homes, which was founded in 2000, has been nominated by building control and warranty body, Premier Guarantee, for an award in its medium-sized development category for the quality of build for its scheme at Green Lane, Pudsey, Leeds. The company won the award for Large Development of The Year for its scheme at The Park, Cookridge in 2012.
Chartford Homes, which handles architectural design, costing, construction, aftercare and sales in house, specialises in niche sites in sought-after locations in West Yorkshire and has completed over 20 schemes with more than 400 new homes in towns including Bingley, Farsley, Cookridge, Gildersome, Guiseley, Horsforth and Alwoodley.
