Housebuilder supports most successful Dog Show to date!

Leading local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes, has helped raise over £5,000 for Hope Pastures Horse and Donkey Sanctuary, after supporting the charity’s recent 2016 Dog Show held close to its Bodington Manor development in Adel. The event, which the housebuilder pledged £1,000 to support, raised more funds for the sanctuary than ever before, helping to continue efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home horses and donkeys in need and provide a centre for the local community.

The show, which took place on Sunday 17th July, had over 150 dogs registered to participate, with more than 500 adults and many more children in attendance throughout the day. The day, which included live music, a drinks area, food and refreshments, provided something to do for the whole family, and was attended by local MP, Greg Mulholland, and his family.

The event offered stalls for local businesses, dog displays, the opportunity for “have a go” agility, and “have a go flyball” as well as the extra attraction of being able to meet the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys. David Wilson Homes has an established relationship with Hope Pastures, having previously supported surface work on site, and provided a £1,000 up-front donation to allow for all the necessary plans to be put in place.

Dan Hardcastle, Sales Manager at David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, commented:

“We’re thrilled to have been able to contribute to what has been the most successful dog show to date. We’ve got a great relationship with Hope Pastures, and the show that they put on this past weekend was truly a special one. To see families out in their droves, enjoying the weather and all that the Dog Show had to offer was brilliant, and we’re very pleased to have been involved.”

“The Dog Show was a great event and the money we provided will helped the centre to prepare the day and ultimately raise much needed funds to keep the excellent facilities running.” Alyson Wort, trustee at Hope Pastures, commented: “We’re incredibly pleased with how the 2016 show went, it was our biggest event to date, and we’d like to thank David Wilson Homes for the generous sponsorship - this ‘up-front’ money enabled us to make sure the day ran smoothly and was essential for us to be confident in running the event, as well as contributing to the funds raised from the day and enabling us to rescue and look after more ponies.”

Bodington Manor is a beautiful development of four and five bedroom detached family homes in a secluded woodland setting with fantastic links to the motorways and Leeds Bradford airport. Prices start at £499,995.
