Client milestone for Wirral-based Accountancy Partnership

An accountancy firm based on the Wirral is celebrating a client-win milestone after developing its own bookkeeping software.

The Accountancy Partnership, which has offices in Upton and central London, has secured its 3000th client during a period of growth that also saw its workforce increase to 25.

The firm has attributed the rise in business to Pandle - a cloud-based bookkeeping software package it developed to rival services from major providers like Newcastle-headquartered Sage Group.

The Accountancy Partnership said that 90% of its clients are now based outside its Merseyside heartland.

Lee Murphy, who launched the business in 2006 as a sole trader before becoming incorporated in 2009, said: “We wanted to grow the business across the UK and overseas so we invested heavily in an intensive web optimisation campaign.

“Our essential offering was to give companies the ability to access statutory accounting services remotely.”

He added: “At the time very few other accountants were using the web in this way and we quickly started winning clients, particularly businesses overseas which wanted to set up a UK operation and benefit from our competitive tax regime.”

Lee, who is a qualified accountant, said that since the biggest problem he came across was with bookkeeping records, he worked with Wirral-based developer Yozu Software to launch Pandle.

The next step, he said, if for the Accountancy Partnership to white label the software for independent accountants and bookkeepers.

He continued: “The scope for growth is considerable both to win small business clients and to offer Pandle to accountancy firms as an alternative bookkeeping package.

“We see big growth potential over the next five years. We believe we stand out offering something that improves how bookkeeping and accounting can be done.”
