New £1m restaurant bringing Cuban cuisine to Harrogate

Latin American restaurant chain Revolucion de Cuba has pledged to invest £1m in a new dining and entertainment venue in the centre of Harrogate.

The new restaurant is to be located on Parliament and will see the former Rehab nightclub transformed into a rustic Cuban-themed cantina and cocktail bar with a stage for live music performance.

Work is already underway on the site and is expected to create 60 new jobs once it opens in early October.

General Manager Will Kershaw believes that Harrogate’s rising reputation as a North of England leisure destination, and the wealth of investment currently flooding into the town, made it a natural choice for a new outlet of the leisure chain.

He said: Harrogate is widely recognised as a vibrant and cosmopolitan town and this is reflected in its growing ability to attract considerable investment as it evolves.

“With so many new developments, including the imminent launch of a new cinema, we felt this was the perfect time to bring something a little bit different to the town.

“We are really excited to be launching our 10th Revolucion de Cuba venue in Harrogate and to be investing significantly in the local economy by creating jobs and developing a prominent site in the heart of the town.”

Wil also offered assurances that the new team would all be recruited locally and that the recruitment process was already underway.

Once opened the new bar and restaurant will also offer live music events, cocktail masterclasses and networking, in addition to its dining and drinks options.

Will added: ““The Revolucion de Cuba team will be very much a part of the local community as well as a feature of the bar and dining scene.

“We are looking forward to getting to know our fellow businesses and supporting the local events and causes that make Harrogate such a dynamic place to live and work.”
