New multi-million pound production facility for Liverpool manufacturer ChargePoint

North West manufacturer ChargePoint Technology has moved into new multi-million pound premises in Merseyside.

The firm relocated to a larger production facility in Speke, Liverpool, to accommodate its growth plans and compete more effectively in the growing aseptic bio-pharma market.

The 27,000 sq ft base has been kitted out with over £1m worth of tech and comprises a mix of production and office space, in addition to areas for product demonstrations, staff training and customer visits.

ChargePoint plans to invest in the facility further with the installation of clean rooms for product assembly and testing.

The company, which claims to be the world’s number two containment valve manufacturer, is also investing in product development to expand its market share.

ChargePoint’s managing director, Chris Eccles, commented: “Our move is in line with both our growth and our ambition and drive to offer the highest quality products for sectors that need to use containment transfers.

“We have invested in state-of-the art technology to improve our unique and progressive devices and this commitment will be evident in the technology in development at present.”

He added: “We now have greater machine capability to increase our existing product range.”

Speaking further, Chris said the firm achieved “phenomenal growth” during Q1 2016.

He continued: “We want to show the world that we are a high precision manufacturing company surrounded by a cluster of world leading biopharma businesses in Speke and are now targeting an even larger market share.

“From our new premises, we are looking forward to meeting and exceeding the high expectations in the pharmaceutical and containment transfer markets and bolstering ChargePoint Technology’s reputation for innovation.”

In 2015, ChargePoint saw its global sales grow year on year by 20%, with exports accounting for 79% of the firm’s turnover.
