North East Trampoline Park Bounces Past 100,000 Visitors

INFINITE AIR - the North’s largest trampoline and free-running park - celebrates its first birthday this month having welcomed more than 100,000 visitors through its doors.

And on the back of that soaring success, new facilities are to be installed at the attraction, housed within Durham’s Belmont Industrial Estate.

By the end of August, a new Foam Zone will open, complete with jousting beam, slackline for tight-rope walking and foam pits to jump into from trampolines.

The success is a vindication of Infinite Air’s owners Coretech Sports Ltd, who invested more than £500,000 last year and have been delighted by the huge appetite shown for the entertainment centre in the North East.

Not only has the attraction won fans from across the region, it has also drawn visitors from the south coast of England, the northern tip of Scotland and as far afield as Austin, Texas, USA!

Co-owner Richard Knowles said: “We’ve been thrilled by how well it has gone and even though we’ve only been open a year, I think we’re firmly on the tourist attraction map for the North East.

“People have come from far and wide to enjoy the chance to combine fitness and fun and the amazing freedom of movement you get at the park.

“We created Infinite Air because we are sport and fitness enthusiasts ourselves and we had seen the tremendous success of these centres in the USA and Australia and more recently in the UK.

“We were convinced that it would prove popular in the North East and we’ve shown that to be the case.

“Now that we’re established we want to bring in more attractions, including the imminent completion of our new 1,500sq ft Foam Pit Zone, to make the customer experience even better.”

Coretech Sports Ltd’s investment is now set to rise to over £750,000 with dozens of jobs having been created locally over the course of the development.

The park currently boasts more than 16,000sq ft of interconnected trampolines and 6,000sq ft of Parkour - the free-running section of the park, which includes a gymnastic sprung floor, steel frames, landing mats and angled timber walls.

There’s also basketball, dodgeball, a fully equipped strength and conditioning area and an enormous airbag.

Richard added: “Infinite Air offers a high-energy fun and fitness experience for people of all ages and we are thrilled to have created this unique entertainment concept on the edge of Durham City.

“The summer was a great time for us to open last year and we are braced for a busy time again now that the school holidays are once more upon us and with the opening of the new area within the park.

“There’s often not much to do in terms of fun physical activities once you hit a certain age but for young people especially it’s a good place to come, enjoy themselves in a healthy environment and socialise.”
