£6m Hartlepool recycling investment to create 50 new jobs
O’Brien Waste Recycling Solutions has revealed plans to create 50 new jobs in the Teesside area within the next 9 months, as part of a £6m investment to build a recycling facility in Hartlepool.
The Wallsend waste management service will erect the development on the same site as its existing skip waste recycling mixed recycling facility (MRF), which opened last year.
The new build follows back to back contract wins in the area which will see O’Brien processing household recycling waste for Middlesbrough and Durham County Council.
With plans afoot to build a specific glass MRF on the same site, O’Brien is investing in more development to enable process glass materials produced by regional householders.
Nathan O’Brien, Managing Director for O’Brien Waste Recycling commented: “We are committed to bringing new jobs to the Teesside area.
“We’re acutely aware of the on-going concerns of secure employment in the area and we’re hoping, although not on a huge scale, to assist with this by developing our Teesside presence.
“Our reputation in the North East as a responsive, service-driven business which deals with waste responsibly is growing.”
The business also has a vehicle and plant fleet maintenance operation in Hartlepool, which is central to its North East operation.
Nathan added: “As well as the recycling plant development we will be opening a new office in Hartlepool in 2017 which will house finance, admin, sales and contract managers to ensure that our service levels are met and our expansion continues across Teesside.”
