PKF Cooper Parry crowned Champions of Europe

A team of footballers from West Midlands-based PKF Cooper Parry have succeeded where the national team failed after being crowned champions of Europe.

The eight strong squad came back victorious from the 10th annual PKF Cup, which saw 14 teams from across the European PKF network battling it out at the two-day tournament which was held in Cologne.

Teams from Germany, France, Belgium, Spain and the Netherlands came up short against the UK team from PKF Cooper Parry, which was managed by Stephen Bryan and captained by Dave Graham, with squad members Andrew Shepherd, Brad Martin, Neil Reynolds, Ewan Rosie, Ross Parnham and Tom Blanchard.

Six wins and one draw against the holders from Munich saw the PKF Cooper Parry team out of the group stages as runners-up, setting up an all-UK semi-final against Group B winners PKF Littlejohn.

After a 1-1 draw, it eventually went down to penalties, which the team won 3-2, securing their place in the final against the team from Munich again. In an exhilarating final, the Cooper Parry team triumphed with a stunning 2-1 win.

Commenting on the team’s success, team manager and tax partner Stephen Bryan said:

“We really enjoyed taking part in this year’s PFK Cup and were absolutely thrilled to have come out as European champions.

“The team worked incredibly well together and played brilliantly across the two days in Cologne. It was a nice to be part of such a friendly tournament with members of the PKF International network and look forward to defending our title next year.”
