Award-winning Leeds chef to launch new city centre restaurant in September
Leeds city centre’s ever-popular dining offering is set to welcome a brand new addition this September.
The new restaurant, Vice & Virtue is set to officially open next month in the city’s Northern Quarter.
Located just opposite The Belgrave, the venue formerly known as Henley’s recently underwent a significant art-deco transformation, and has been an established cocktail bar since winter 2015.
The Vice & Virtue menu is set to consist of locally sourced ingredients and will change on a daily basis to reflect the best each of the four seasons. Diners will be able to choose from a 5, 8 or 10 dish tasting menu, which will be paired with wines, cocktails and a wide range of ales.
Whilst the restaurant itself is weeks away from launch, the venue’s cocktail menu currently comprises homegrown bestsellers such as the Rhubarb Triangle, featuring Absolut Vodka infused with rhubarb, lavender foam and chocolate.
The man spearheading the new dining project is Luke Downing, who is both the managing director and executive chef of Dough Bistro.
Commenting on the launch of Vice & Virtue, Luke said: “I’m so excited about returning to the kitchen and developing my ideas to a city centre audience.
“I absolutely love what I do, and think my passionate approach to food and drink, will offer foodies something very different, and affordable too.
“Every ingredient will be as important as the next, and drink pairings will include homemade infusions and cocktails from our forthcoming cocktail menu. I’m cooking the sort of food I love. Simple, experimental, flavourful and provoking.”
