While the relationship between the UK and UAE energy sectors is well-established, the market has new requirements as it grows and diversifies, which presents tangible opportunities for British companies.”

The event features speakers from energy companies including Shell Abu Dhabi, Amec Foster Wheeler and Atkins Global. Stephanie Al Qaq, UKTI Deputy Head of Mission, United Arab Emirates will be making a keynote speech, while Professor Alan Lowdon from the University of Durham Energy Institute will be giving an insight into the UK renewables experience; the value of collaboration among suppliers.

Mr Rafferty added: “Governments in the Middle East have taken many steps to create an open market that makes the UAE an attractive investment proposition.

“Now is the time for British businesses to input into this Middle Eastern market to share knowledge, capabilities and skills to drive the industry forward.”
