Top tier status opens world of opportunities for growing Newcastle healthcare firm

Newcastle-based medical agency On Medical has been recognised as one of the UK’s top medical agencies by Medco, the government-implemented medico-legal portal system.

Becoming the first medical agency to transition from tier two to tier one status, On Medical has been a rising North East success story since its establishment in 2006.

The firm, which handles ‘medico-legal’ reporting for personal injury solicitors and insurance companies, has benefitted greatly since the introduction of MedCo in 2015, the system born out of the government’s decision to no longer allow claimant lawyers to source reports from agencies with which they share financial links.

Following this introduction opening up the market for providers like On Medical, the firm has experienced rapid growth, growing its team of 33 to 53 to cope with increased demand.

In order to allow for further growth, the firm will take on an additional ten employees in August, and have plans for on-going recruitment as they continue to expand in their new tier one status.

Ian Scanlan, Head of Business Development at On Medical said: “We are delighted that MedCo has awarded us tier one status. We started out as a small, internal medical agency. Following changes within the industry, we are now a client-facing agency with a huge capacity for growth and investment in our region.

“Within a year of the introduction of MedCo, we have seen our instructions increase by almost 1000 per cent.

“At On Medical, we do things differently, and our new tier one status has gone against the expectations of many in the industry.

“We’re here to stay, and with the help of our growing team, we look forward to going from strength to strength, while maintaining our reputation for outstanding client care and efficient service.”
