Hat-trick of North West construction projects for engineering firm SGi
Civil, structural and environmental engineering consultancy SGi Shepherd Gilmour has landed contracts on three large North West construction projects.
The Manchester-based firm will now be providing engineering services on the 92,569 sq ft Scottish Power depot in Middlewich alongside family construction business Pochin’s, as well as on a 120,000 sq ft industrial unit in Knowsley from developer db symmetry.
SGi also won the contract to work on healthcare provider Bupa’s new £50m Salford Quays headquarters, with construction company Morgan Sindall Group choosing SGi to complete the detailed design work it developed for the site’s previous owners, Peel Land & Property Group.
Once operational, the centre will provide office space for around 2,000 Bupa staff.

The hat-trick follows last month’s announcement that SGi’s turnover has increased year on year by 100% to £1.2m.
The firm’s director, Emyr Jones, said of the growth: “We’re thrilled to be working on these three standout projects in the North West.
“At SGi Shepherd Gilmour we’ve built a strong reputation which generates repeat business.”
He added: “We’ve grown our turnover and our staff in the last 12 months and we hope to continue to win large contracts so we can keep growing.”
