Queek’d uses a rating system and custom-built algorithm to match its users with dating sites

Manchester entrepreneur launches dating platform Queek’d

Manchester-based entrepreneur Elisa Mclean is hoping to revolutionise the dating scene with the launch of a new online platform.

Queek’d, which stands for ‘quick and easy kind of dating’, is a free dating comparison platform aimed at singles looking for long-term relationships.

Former professional dancer Elisa has been developing her new venture over the last six months.

Commenting on the launch, she said: “Having tried online dating myself I was somewhat overwhelmed by the number of dating sites available but there wasn’t a directory site bringing them all together.

“Queek’d is a portal and not a dating site in itself and is comparable to Gocompare for the dating world.”

She continued: “Different dating sites have different features and are designed for different purposes, and Queek’d helps users save time and energy by finding the site that will give them the best chance of finding a compatible partner.”

A number of dating websites have already signed up with Queek’d, including Match.com, eHarmony and Elite Singles.

Queek’d uses a rating system and custom-built algorithm to match its users with dating sites that fit their particular interests, relationship goals, price range and other preferences.

In addition to its comparison service, the platform also provides videos and articles offering dating advice.

Speaking further, Elisa commented: “There is so much information out there on dating that we wanted to make sure our users could find some of this on the site.

“My passion is to help singles discover a deep sense of happiness and connect them on a soul mate level.”

To support Queek’d, Elisa has joined startup business accelerator Entrepreneurial Spark, based at NatWest’s offices on Hardman Boulevard in Manchester.

Discussing her involvement with the accelerator, Elisa said: “Entrepreneurial Spark has been a great benefit to me as I have developed the business.

“When I joined the programme in February all I had was an idea but with the support of Entrepreneurial Spark, I have been able to bring that idea to fruition.”

She added: “I’m excited about the next 12 months and Queek’d’s development.”

NatWest entrepreneur development manager Gemma Kirby commented: “Elisa has showed just how an idea or spark can transform into something bigger through the development of Queek’d.

“Her ability to adapt into something that will succeed is exactly what we are trying to do with the entrepreneurs at the Manchester Hatchery.”
