Engineering training firm gets permanent Middlesbrough base
A company which has trained hundreds of engineering professionals in the North East has established a permanent presence on Teesside.
Part of global sealing solutions specialist Flexitallic, The Academy of Joint Integrity has enjoyed a close partnership with the TTE Technical Training Group and will now be able to extend its service offering via its new Middlesbrough base.
Its facility, which it will share with its parent company, Flexitallic, includes the Academy’s ECITB approved training rig and the unique Flange Assembly Demonstration Unit that permits trainees to gain practical hands-on experience of identifying and addressing sealing issues, while also viewing unique real time graphics of the flange assembly process.
The Academy, which is a member of North East-based industry associations NEPIC and NOF Energy, provides accredited, bespoke practical training to engineers and technicians covering all areas of Flange Assembly/Sealing Technology and Joint integrity, underpinning Loss of Containment Initiatives.
Its programmes are certified by a number of awarding bodies through recognised training frameworks including the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) Critical Bolting Units Route to Competency /Energy Institute (EI)-Approved programmes, and COGENT Gold Standard courses targeted for the Process Industries and available from its Skills Store
In addition to its training, the Academy delivers On-site Integrity audits by Professional Engineers that provide clients with ageing assets, invaluable technical evaluation of how to manage corroded flanges and pipework from a gasket/flange assembly perspective.
Gary Milne, Technical Director at the Academy of Joint Integrity, said: “Teesside has a rich industrial heritage, underpinning our deliverables with local businesses that operate on an international level is very important
“We’ve built strong relationships and alliances in the region through our work with TTE, which continues to be well received, however our new facility will allow us to meet ever increasing demand for our accredited training programmes and Integrity Products and Services provision.”
