New ecommerce platform HiHouse to create over 50 Manchester jobs

Ecommerce platform HiHouse is set to launch into the value market, creating more than 50 jobs at its Manchester HQ and Trafford Park distribution centre.

HiHouse, part of HI Group Ltd, will initially focus on household, toiletries, pet and baby care as its four key categories, with shoppers able to browse over 1,000 branded items or choose one of HiHouse’s curated shopping lists.

The firm’s managing director, Mukesh Karsan, said: “We’ve put together simple bundles for customers to choose from.

“You can either buy the whole bundle or edit it as much as you like. And, if you need household items on a regular basis, you can have your favourite items delivered on a monthly basis.”

The firm’s growing workforce spans content, marketing, buying, operations and customer service departments, using expertise from National Union of Students and retailers ao.com and Pets at Home.

HiHouse’s marketing campaign manager, Alex Butcher, commented: “It’s great to be supporting the local job market. There is so much talent out there in Manchester so to be harnessing it for a new venture is exciting.

“For the senior management, HiHouse has been a nugget of an idea for many years and it’s now finally coming to life for an Autumn launch.”

Alex added: “Today’s fast-paced, expensive way of living has taken valuable time and money from too many of us so HiHouse is all about offering a quick and easy way to shop for those bulky household items.”

The HiHouse platform, which is due to launch in full this autumn, was developed with Manchester-based digital agency Cube3. A teaser page at hihouse.co.uk went live yesterday (August 17).
