Barker and Stonehouse invest £300k in Darlington store upgrade
The Barker and Stonehouse store in Darlington has undergone a £300k innovation, as part of the Teesside-headquartered retailer’s drive to refresh its outlets.
The makeover, designed by merchandising director Claire Hornby, focuses on room-sets created to show off a changing mix of furniture, flooring and accessories.
James Barker, Barker and Stonehouse Managing Director, said: “Our Darlington store has always been far more than a furniture shop – and with this makeover it’s revealed its full potential as a place to gain inspiration and find something different.”
Barker and Stonehouse’s team of designers has been hard at work in the store for weeks creating the exciting furniture room-sets and layouts for customers to enjoy.
Outside, the store has been given a facelift too, with reclaimed timber fascias and a brand new entrance.
James said: “It’s important to us to continue to invest in our stores and our customers, and we’re delighted to unveil the truly unique shopping experience our Darlington store now offers.”
“The first customers through the doors have told us they’re extremely impressed – and we’re looking forward to inspiring and impressing many more.”
