Kick start your career with a quality apprenticeship

With GCSE results day looming for many of the country’s teenagers, many teens will be relying on the grades they need to progress to the next stage in their education.

But for those who want to kick start their careers, and gain valuable work experience; apprenticeships can be the perfect route into permanent employment.

Many young people believe that they have to stay in school or college until the age of 18. That is not the case; if you have an apprenticeship lined up you can still leave school at the age of 16.

As an apprentice, you will be given the opportunity to earn and learn while gaining practical, hands on work experience, and a government recognised and approved NVQ qualification.

Saks Apprenticeships based Darlington, offer quality apprenticeship training in Hairdressing, Barbering, Beauty Therapy and Management.

Recently named the UK’s number one training provider for employer satisfaction, in a recent government survey administered by the Skills Funding Agency, CEO Tina rook explains what sets Saks Apprenticeships apart.

She said: “Although the government are investing more into providing quality apprenticeship programmes we are finding school leavers still do not have the information they need to consider an apprenticeship.

“Apprenticeships are so much more than a qualification; they can act as a gateway into permanent employment. By the time an apprentice’s peers are leaving college, and considering higher education, or a career, our learners are already qualified with two years’ work experience under their belts.

“We offer a different approach to learning, for those who are considering a career in hairdressing, beauty therapy, management, or barbering. Saks Apprenticeships offer bespoke training programmes that suit the needs of the learner, and employer.

“Our work based approach to learning means that an apprentice will spend all their working hours in salon, rather than taking time out to attend college. Apprentices will be designated their own Saks Educator who will come out and assess their theoretical and practical assignments. Our Educators are there to offer support and guidance throughout a learner’s qualification.”

According to the Government website 90% of apprentices remain in employment after qualifying, and 89% of apprentices are satisfied with their apprenticeship.

Saks Apprenticeships was founded in 2,000 and have since trained over 5,000 apprentices across the country. As well as being named the UK’s number one training provider for employer satisfaction, Saks Apprenticeships has been awarded Beacon status by the Quality Improvement Agency, and granted Grade One teaching status by government.
