Newcastle odour control manufacturer to create 14 fresh jobs

Newcastle-based 2Pure has moved to new premises and is set to double its workforce, after receiving backing from Yorkshire bank.

A manufacturer of odour control products, the firm obtained a six figure funding package from the bank’s North East Customer Banking Centre, delivered by relationship manager Andrew Grundy.

After twenty years in development the business gained a patent in 2014 and has since tripled production over the past year.

The company recently moved to bigger premises in Eltringham Works in Prudhoe to help meet demand and there are plans to create 14 new jobs. 2Pure, which currently employs about 10 staff, is a new customer of Yorkshire Bank.

2Pure’s product range was developed using unique patented technology which destroys odours by changing the molecular structure of odour compounds. It also kills odour-causing bacteria which helps to prevent odours from returning and keep treated areas hygienic.

The firm’s flagship product is OdorBac, a powerful cleaning liquid which was specially formulated for use in commercial environments. End users include NHS Trusts, Care UK, the British Museum, Newcastle United and London Overground.

Other products include pet care, car care, stain removers and air purifiers.

Barry Donaghey, managing director of 2Pure, said: “It’s a very exciting time for us. Since gaining our patent a couple of years ago, we have worked hard to establish the brand. We’re now at a point where our products are used by many major UK organisations and we’re gradually being adopted by households across the land.

“I see the team at Yorkshire Bank playing a key role in helping us to achieve our growth aspirations.

“We’ve been extremely impressed by Yorkshire Bank’s experience of growing SMEs and their can-do attitude, which matches our own.

“With Yorkshire Bank’s support, we are ready to step up to the next level and become a player on the world stage.”

Phil Empson, Senior Manager at Yorkshire Bank’s North East Customer Banking Centre, added: “We welcome the opportunity to work in partnership with 2Pure as they expand and grow the business. A local business, its management team are committed to retaining their Newcastle roots, growing jobs locally and strengthening to the local economy.

“It is rewarding to be supporting such a strong business with fantastic growth potential.”
