Ecommerce agency Peacock Carter takes over Ecommerce North East group

The Ecommerce North East user group meets every first Wednesday at Campus North in Newcastle city centre. Attracting businesses at a range of stages, the group meets to discuss the latest in ecommerce news and technologies, as well as strategies for sustainably growing sales online.

Gateshead-based ecommerce agency Peacock Carter Ltd have recently taken over organisation of the event alongside ecommerce veteran Alex Goodacre after the previous organiser stepped down due to other commitments.

“We want to grow what Tony [the previous organiser] managed to achieve, keeping the ecommerce community in the North East of England active and on top of new trends and technologies.”

“The group are really passionate about ecommerce and selling online, and we’re all keen to help those small businesses in the North East who may be struggling to get their feet on the ladder,” says Richard Carter, managing director of Peacock Carter.

Founded in 2014, Ecommerce North East is a free monthly event, made possible by its volunteer organisers and sponsors of the venue, Campus North. Previous topics have included optimising ecommerce websites for search engines, researching product listings for marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon, and advice on ecommerce platforms including Magento, Shopify and WooCommerce.

There is also time set aside for a community discussion each month, allowing attendees to ask questions to the entire event - a great use of our members’ collective knowledge and experience across a range of specialisms and business sizes.

All interested in ecommerce are invited to join the Ecommerce North East group, on the first Wednesday of the month at Campus North. See the group’s website, ecommercene.co.uk, for more details.
