Leeds United gets energized by new commercial partner
Leeds United has announced that Utilita Energy, the Pre-Pay Smart Energy supplier, is the club’s new Official Energy Partner.
The partnership will provide Utilita Energy with a platform to further increase awareness of its brand, with visibility opportunities inside Elland Road and across Leeds’ media platforms.
During the season, Utilita Energy will offer a number of different incentives for Leeds United fans to switch to them.
For each Leeds United supporter who switches to Utilita Energy using the promo code ‘LEEDS’, the company will donate £25 to the Club.
Launched in 2003, Utilita Energy has held a Price Commitment since 2008 to be cheaper than the Big Six on a prepayment tariff. In July 2016, Utilita Energy cut its gas prices for the fourth successive quarter – and it expects to reach 400,000 customers in September 2016, up from just 90,000 in April 2014.
Paul Bell, United’s executive director, said: “We are delighted confirm Utilita as our Official Energy Partner. We are hugely excited by this partnership and the opportunities it will deliver for all involved and, furthermore, the support it will provide to the Academy.
“We look forward to building a strong relationship between our two brands both on and off the field as we seek to return to the Premier League. Our commercial partners are extremely important to the Club and we would like to thank Utilita for their support.”
Jem Maidment, Utilita Energy’s head of communications, added: “These are really exciting times for both Leeds United and Utilita Energy – we are honoured to become an official partner of this magnificent club.
“We don’t want this to be ‘just another’ partnership. We want it to be meaningful and to have a positive effect for Leeds United fans and the Club.
“Not only can Leeds United fans benefit from our fantastic product offering, but we are delighted to incentivise the club further – with money ring fenced for Leeds United’s Academy and the brilliant community work the Club carries out through the Leeds United Foundation.”
