Apprentice winner helps London training academies unlock turnover growth

The London Hair Academy and The London Makeup School, providers of hair and beauty training, have seen their turnover skyrocket in recent months thanks to Apprentice winner Mark Wright.

The two London-based firms’ takings rose by 60% in their first 10 months of working with Climb Online, Mark’s £4m-turnover digital marketing agency.

After participating in the closing task of the popular BBC One series, which saw Mark and his team pitch their agency to potential businesses, The London Hair Academy decided to sign up as a client in October last year.

Since then, Climb Online has used a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to help both academies grow their turnover from £740k to £1.2m.

The London Hair Academy’s managing director, Richie Perera, said: “Climb Online has been managing our Google AdWords campaign for just 10 months, and during this time have managed to increase our click-through rate by 122%, our ad clicks by over 58%, our cost-per-acquisition by 36% and most importantly our conversion rate by over 100%.

“With numbers like that there is no need for words.”

He added: “That’s a successful campaign in any online marketing agency’s books.”

As a result of the growth, both academies have expanded capacity at their training sites by 50%, with Climb Online responsible for filling around 80% of the training spaces available.

Commenting on the figures, Climb Online founder Mark said: “The past 18 months or so has been an incredible journey for both Climb Online and many of the clients that we work with – in that we have all experienced such incredible growth.

“The London Hair Academy and The London Makeup School are an excellent example of this, and demonstrates just how effective a well-managed digital marketing campaign can be for aiding business development.”
