UK manufacturer takes its high performance alloys global

Technical expertise, an ever increasing range of high performance alloys and fast lead times has seen Alloy Wire International (AWI) secure its 250th customer in the spring manufacturing sector.

The company, which produces round, shaped profile, wire rope and electrical resistance wire from its factory in the West Midlands, is celebrating the milestone by taking its biggest ever presence at CASMI Springworld 2016 in Chicago, United States.

It will be the firm’s 10th time at the show (October 5-7) and will see technical experts on hand to discuss a 60-strong alloy range, including Phynox, Inconel X-750, Hastelloy C-276, Inconel 600, Monel K500, Monel 400 and Nispan C902.

There will also be an opportunity for visitors to Stand #1021 to discover how AWI can provide wire in diameters from as small as .001“ to as large as .827“.

“We have a long track record supplying spring makers all over the UK, the US, Canada and the rest of the world,” explained Angus Hogarth, Sales Director at Alloy Wire International.

“They use AWI because of our ongoing technical help, advice and our extensive stock range means we can supply all these alloys in just two weeks of the order being placed.”

He continued: “Many springs are used in highly sensitive sectors, such as nuclear, oil and aerospace. Only the best is good enough, which is why we are DFARS compliant, adhere to REACH and carry a number of industry approvals. Repeatable quality is what we are all about.

“Chicago Association of Spring Manufacturers Inc (CASMI) sponsor ‘Springworld’ and it’s a massive date in the industry calendar. The event is a great way for us to meet up with existing and new customers, as well as communicate the new advancements in wire manufacturing we have been developing over the past 12 months.”

2016 has been a year of growth for Alloy Wire International, with the company taking on another three people – including one apprentice - to cope with increased demand from the EU, US and the Far East.

Angus concluded: “Export is half of our total sales and we have offices in 40 countries, with the aim to forge more strategic partnerships going forward.

“We always look to get local knowledge and expertise on the ground and then support that with the best sales and marketing activity and world class manufacturing from our two sites in the UK.”
