Commercial Property Partners Appoints First Ever Apprentice

In the week that A level results were published CPP has announced that 18 year old Max Pickering from Whirlow in Sheffield has joined the firm as Assistant Surveyor, the company’s first apprentice appointment.

Max was selected from over 20 candidates shortlisted for the role earlier in the year, and will be assisting the CPP team across the business on a number of upcoming deals while managing a four-year distance learning RICS accredited degree course at the College of Estates Management, and his Assessment of Professional Competence.

CPP Partner Roger Haworth said: “The traditional routes are not necessarily always the best ways of finding outstanding candidates. Apprenticeships offer businesses from across many sectors a route to harness fresh new talent.

“We interviewed a number of students from schools across Sheffield and Max really stood out for us. He will be learning on the job, building up knowledge and skills from the team and across industry. We are delighted to have him on board and look forward to a bright future with him.”

Max said: “I have always had an interest in property but I wasn’t sure that University was for me. When CPP came to my school and told us about the opportunity I thought it sounded perfect.

“I am really looking forward to starting my course next month and am excited about my future at CPP.”

CPP is a private firm of advisors who specialise in the disposal, acquisition and management of all types of commercial property. They work across Yorkshire, East Midlands and the North East property markets, with offices in Sheffield and Nottingham.
