British Land unveils office scheme at ‘super-prime’ Mayfair development
Property developers British Land have unveiled the commercial office portion of its £130m Clarges Street development in Mayfair which it acquired in 2012.
The offices at 7 Clarges Street are part of the firm’s wider Clarges development, which includes ‘super-prime’ residential units that sold for over £5,000 per sq ft back in 2014, a record at the time with one flat rumoured to have sold for over £25m.
Located in Piccadilly, the six floors of office space at the site encompass 49,500 sq ft of commercial space with the top three levels incorporating private terraces boasting views of Buckingham Palace and Green Park.
Architectural and interior design work on the high-end development was carried out by Squire and Partners, which have carried out work on a number of major developments in the capital including the 10 Broadway scheme in Westminster.
Michael Wiseman, Head of Office Leasing, British Land, commented: “This landmark new commercial address is a shining example of British Land’s commitment to delivering Places People Prefer, with an understanding that well-designed workspaces result in happier, healthier, motivated, and ultimately more efficient businesses.
“Reflecting the evolution of the Mayfair market, we anticipate a diverse mix of businesses taking space at 7 Clarges Street, including private equity firms and asset management firms, alongside technology companies and creative businesses.”
