Massimo Cellino acquires 100% stake in Leeds United
Massimo Cellino is now in full control of Leeds United after buying GFH Capital’s shares in the club.
The Italian businessman’s Eleonora Sports has completed the acquisition of the minority stake held by the Bahrain-based investment bank.
GFH Capital bought Leeds from Ken Bates in the winter of 2012 before selling a 75% stake to current owner Massimo Cellino in January 2014.
In a statement, Leeds United said: “The Club is delighted to confirm that Leeds United Football Club is now 100% owned by Eleonora Sport Limited, it having purchased all of the shares previously held by GFH Capital.”
Since taking over Leeds in April 2014, Cellino has dismissed a total of six managers and received several suspensions by the Football League for off-pitch incidences.
