Premiership footballer to open Trade Centre

A PREMIERSHIP footballer will be the special guest at the opening of a new Trade Centre based on Teesside industrial Estate.

Middlesbrough goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos will be greeting visitors and officially opening Cotswold Trade and DIY Centre on Thursday September 15 at 3pm.

Located at Robson Avenue on Teesside Industrial Estate, Ingleby Barwick, the event is open to the trade and public from 10am until 6pm and will offer a free bacon/hot roast pork sandwich, beverages, free samples, goodie bags and the chance to speak to suppliers directly on queries from workwear to power tools, door handles to tape measures.

The one-stop shop is an extension of doorset and doorkit supplier Cotswold Manufacturing, which has operated from the 82,000 sq ft site, for the last three years.

Martin Coleman, Trade Centre Manager, said: “We have so many brilliant suppliers and partners that we’ve worked with since the beginning and this new retail venture means that local tradesmen and residents can source top quality tools and accessories right on their doorstep.

“We’ve researched the best and most sought-after products and created a relaxing pit-stop for tradespeople. There’s a free coffee machine, and free Wi-Fi too.

“As a big Boro fan I am delighted that Dimi has agreed to come over and open the Trade Centre. I hope he gets a great reception from fans turning out here.”

Suppliers attending the event include Carlisle Brass, DeWalt, Makita, Klingspor, Karcher and Reisser.

Martin added: “The next step for us is then building an online platform to match this. Hopefully in the next few months we’ll be able to introduce the e-commerce side of the business and a click and collect, making it even easier for our customers to buy with us.

“We’re really looking forward to the opening and would like to extend a warm invite to resident and traders from across the region.”

Cotswold Manufacturing was set up in 2005, originally operating from the Towngate Business Park in Billingham.

Members of the public are invited to attend the open day at Cotswold Trade and DIY Centre, Robson Avenue, Thornaby, TS17 9LS from 10am until 6pm on Thursday September 15.
