Post-Brexit strategies show growth in demand for flexible workspace in Leeds
The fallout from June’s EU referendum vote has led to a growth in demand for flexible office space in Leeds, according to workspace provider Regus.
In a post-Brexit market, Regus has reported a growth of more than 60% in enquiries from June-August and claims the figures are an indication that businesses in Leeds and the outer region are starting to evaluate the flexibility of how and where they work.
Richard Morris, UK CEO of Regus, said: “The current UK business climate does not lend itself to long-term property purchase commitments or even long-term lease arrangements.
“Instead, businesses are thinking more flexibly and investigating more agile ways of working afforded by flexible workspace.
“Since the Brexit vote was announced, we have seen a significant growth in enquiries for our workspace in Leeds, and this trend is mirrored across the UK.”
The Regus model enables businesses to take as much workspace as they need at any time – whether a single office for a day, or multiple workstations across an extended period.
Morris added: “Businesses were starting to think this way long before Brexit happened. Certainly, the Brexit effect has generated a surge in demand, but this is simply continued evidence that business attitudes are beginning to shift towards a more agile future.”
