Deloitte supports start-ups through new partnership

Deloitte’s Manchester office has partnered with the global training initiative, Startup Leadership Program (SLP), offering support to aspiring start-up CEOs.

SLP is a highly selective not-for-profit organisation and global network for entrepreneurs, founders and innovators who are selected following a rigorous application processes. The company has facilitated more than 1,300 start-ups in 28 cities around the world, operating in a huge range of sectors including food, BioTech, tourism and hardware.

This new partnership with Deloitte will help the company extend its footprint to the North of England, with Manchester as a base.

Having supported SLP for the past three years from the London office, Deloitte’s Manchester branch plans to mirror this activity, providing venue space for training sessions and events that will take place over a six-month period. There is also potential for Deloitte representatives to help shape the SLP curriculum and content of the sessions in the future as well as offering personalised support for participants along the way.

Naomi Timperley, director at Tech North Advocates and program lead for SLP, said: “We are really excited to be launching our global program into Manchester where the start-up scene is so vibrant and alive with opportunity. Working with Deloitte will help us to support a new generation of entrepreneurs and we are looking forward to a year of education and growth in Manchester.”
