York’s Arcus Consultancy Services Ltd launches new property consultancy Surface Property
A York-based planning, environmental and engineering firm has launched a new multi-disciplinary, environment and design consultancy specialising in the built environment.
Arcus Consultancy Services Ltd has established Surface Property which will build on Arcus’s decade of success working in the energy and renewables sectors.
The new property brand, which offers a bespoke service to existing and potential property clients, operates from city centre offices in York, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
With a team of 50, Surface Property provides a wide range of services across a breadth of specialisms from acoustics and affordable housing, to urban design and planning.
Surface is also working on some of this region’s most recognizable projects, including Terrys Chocolate Factory, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, and Tetley’s Brewery.
Greg Shillabeer, director of Surface, said: “Since launching Arcus ten years ago, we’ve grown rapidly and have worked with all major developers in the UK in terms of renewable energy.
“We’re using this experience to work more closely with property developers and, especially within the housing sector, we understand the current issues they face and we want to help build the new homes that the country needs.
“We’ve achieved the highest planning success rate in renewables when compared to our competitors – there’s no reason why we can’t achieve the same level of success in the property sector.
“The new brand, Surface, will capitalise on our expertise in this area and we intend to continue growing our offer through a range of specialist property services that will assist across the whole life cycle of a development.”
