Atlantic Container Line touts 20,000 sq ft of office space at Duke Street HQ
Shipping company Atlantic Container Line (ACL) has has begun looking for tenants to fill its newly launched office space housed within its Liverpool headquarters.
The 40,000 sq ft facility at 90 Duke Street is Liverpool’s first purpose-built shipping headquarters since the development of the India Buildings in 1924 and has 20,000 sq ft available to lease on the ground and first floors.
Developed by real estate group Network Space, the new four-storey building has been supported by £2.82m European Regional Development Fund grants and £1.38m Chrysalis funding, and is set to house ACL’s entire 168-strong Liverpool workforce from October.
ACL’s UK Managing Director, Ian Higby commented that the maritime firm is looking to attract ambitious local businesses after an ‘agent’s launch’ to promote the new space in Liverpool’s Rope Walks district.
He said: “90 Duke Street, is one of the best located, best equipped and best designed office buildings in the city.
“It is right in the heart of a vibrant area on the doorstep of Liverpool One and is ideal for companies wanting an address that speaks volumes for their ambitions.
“We are looking for businesses to join us, in this exciting new building, who share ACL’s vision to invest in the regeneration of Liverpool and create jobs for talented local people.”
Stephen Barnes, managing director of Network Space, added: “ACL’s commitment to this project and to this part of the city is crucial to the ongoing regeneration of the Rope Walks area.
