Exporting is GREAT hub comes to the North West this week

The Department for International Trade is bringing its Exporting is GREAT Export Hub tour to the North West from this week.

Salford, Winsford, Warrington, Leyland and Aintree will all host events as part of the nationwide tour that aims to raise awareness of international trade and get more UK businesses trading overseas.

Beginning at MediaCityUK at Salford Quays, the hub, housed within a 32 tonne campaign truck, will be parked up at the five sites from Monday 26 September where it will host seminars, workshops and one-to-one meetings for local businesses who want to learn more about exporting.

The Salford event is set to include advice on how to undertake business in China with representatives from the Royal Bank of Scotland on how businesses can go about securing payment for services.

Attendees to Wednesday’s event at Victoria Park in Warrington will be provided with insight about the increasing demand for British goods in India, while the penultimate stop at Lancashire Business Park in Leyland will focus on the fashion industry.

The tour comes to an end at Aintree Racecourse on Friday 30 September.

Clive Drinkwater, DIT’s North West regional director expressed his hopes that the events will inspire more North West businesses to realise the benefits of exporting their goods abroad.

He commented: “Exporting helps companies of all sizes to grow, and taking those initial steps to find out more can prove invaluable. These events are an ideal opportunity for companies to learn about the benefits, the opportunities and the support available.

“Working with our partners in the North West, we are determined to help local companies succeed internationally.”
