Esh Group secures £3.9m recycling project for Leeds City Council
Esh Group is working on a £3.9m project to extend and improve recycling facilities in Leeds.
Awarded by Leeds City Council, the contract will see Esh Group make major improvements to the Kirkstall Road site that will boost capacity and enable better waste segregation.
The works will be undertaken by Esh’s civil engineering division, Lumsden and Carroll.
Due for the completion in January 2017, Esh has handed over the first phase of the project.
The improved recycling facility will serve the local area, including the 57-acre Kirkstall Forge development, where there are plans to build 1,050 new houses, 300,000 sq ft of offices and 100,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and community space.
David Pratt divisional director of civils at Esh Group, said: “The project will prove a benefit to the residents in the local area and create capacity for the future. The improved site will help Leeds Council achieve its waste reduction targets.”
Lumsden & Carroll Civil Engineering operates across the public sector and the private sectors, throughout the North East, North West, Yorkshire and Southern Scotland.
