Leeds automotive data business gears up for global launch

cap hi, the Leeds-based automotive data company, is set to launch its global business at the Paris Motor Show.

The company, which employs over 300 people, has built a European dataset to support the first phase of its growth plans and will underpin its insight and data services with a new global coding system.

cap hi is also planning further global expansion in the coming months.

This announcement follows a raft of appointments on its industry insight team, which is led by Adrian Rushmore who moved to an international operations director role.

Commenting on the launch, Adrian Rushmore said: “Our global operations will have technology at the centre of all data activities, from collection and processing, through to delivery and the development of new applications.

“We have created a global hub in Leeds to ensure our systems, coding, data collection processes, and valuation methodologies are consistent, scalable and repeatable for every country that cap hpi enters in the coming years.”

The new code will enable businesses to take a unified view of global trends, and see efficiencies across all operations that use new and used vehicle data.

Matt Thompson, marketing director of cap hpi, added: “We believe a single global code will help the industry drive innovation and growth throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Data led businesses will be able to scale internationally in a fraction of the time and with much less cost.”

cap hpi say the new code is numeric-based and will provide a future-proofed platform that enables a wide range of technology-based solutions. It will allow far greater levels of detail and accuracy when describing a model, chassis and powertrain variants.

The existing cap code will run alongside the new code and receive support indefinitely.

cap hpi will work with companies across automotive manufacturing, retailing, finance, insurance and fleet sectors to use the code to develop applications. The company is recruiting teams in each country and undertaking detailed research to develop local solutions.

cap hpi is rolling out the new code globally and plans to deliver a range of digital and data services to support users.

The company is launching into key markets in 2016, supported by the international network of parent company, Solera, which operates in over 75 countries.
