Bolton-based Seddon to deliver £4.4m conversion at Hallmark’s Bradford factory
Seddon, the Bolton-headquartered builder and developer, has secured a multi-million pound conversion contract with greeting cards giant Hallmark Cards.
The £4.4m deal will allow Hallmark to relocate 450 head office staff to its facility on Dawson Lane in Bradford.
The move is part of a strategy by the US-owned company to consolidate its Bradford operations to one site.
The Dawson Lane centre previously served as Hallmark’s UK manufacturing plant and currently houses 180 distribution staff.
Seddon has been selected to convert the site’s existing warehouse into office space with new mezzanine floors to house the firm’s creative, business and admin teams.
Additionally, the project will involve the refitting of electrical services, refurbishments and some external alterations.
Seddon’s regional director for North West construction, Ed Wootton, said: “This represents yet another significant investment for our commercial construction team, which is going from strength to strength.
“It’s highly encouraging to see an international business like Hallmark Cards reaffirm its commitment to the local economy and strengthening its presence in the heart of the North of England.”
Hallmark Cards’ international supply chain director, Richard Campbell, commented: “We have a great opportunity to make our Dawson Lane site right for the future, and create a space that is better suited to the work we do.
“It will also bring us closer to our retail distribution centre so we can be more connected within the business. With on-time delivery vital, Seddon were a clear choice for the project.”
The project is due for completion in March 2017.
