Brayford Hotels to complete 165-bedroom hotel development in Hull

Brayford Hotels, the specialist hospitality developer, has reached an agreement with Lexington Avenue Leisure to take over the development of a new 165 bedroom hotel in Hull.

Brayford Hotels is set to build a premium brand full-service hotel, restaurant and banqueting facility on Ferensway.

Manorcrest Construction Limited has been appointed by Brayford Hotels to develop the site as part of a £20m investment.

Leigh Hall, director of both Manorcrest and Brayford Hotels, said: “We have been extremely successful in finding prominent sites which lend themselves to branded hotels and we are looking forward to continuing our success with the delivery of the new full service hotel, which will also have many facilities not currently available locally, such as a banqueting facility for up to one thousand people.

“We are currently talking to an internationally recognised hotel brand and hope to bring a world famous, top tier restaurant brand to the city. We will announce more details as soon as we can.

“We are grateful to Hull City Council for their support, and will be looking to work with local contractors on the development, which will employ around 100 people when the hotel opens. Delivering a successful project will only drive our desire to look at other potential sites in Hull.

“Obviously, we are keen to play our part in the success of Hull’s City of Culture and are aiming to open the hotel and its associated facilities in the third quarter of 2017.”

As well as working with Manorcrest Construction, Brayford Hotels will be appointing Leaf Hospitality to manage the day-to-day running of the hotel.

The Hull hotel will be the third time the three companies have worked together, having previously developed the DoubleTree by Hilton in Lincoln and Holiday Inn Express in Grimsby.

Richard Farrar, managing director of Leaf Hospitality, added: “We are delighted to be working with the Brayford team again. I know just how hard they will work to deliver the best possible hotel for Hull.

“With Manorcrest Construction starting work, we can begin taking large scale conference enquiries again for the later part of 2017 and beyond.”
