Catexel appoints new business development manager

Global leading catalyst company, Catexel, has further expanded the company with the appointment of a new business development manager.

Liz Manning brings a wealth of experience to the newly created role, focusing on the delivery of customer sales plans and new business development.

With a first class master’s degree in chemistry from the University of York and an MBA, Liz will have exposure to both technical and commercial environments as business development manager.

Liz’s experience spans from working in R&D at DSM in the Netherlands, to more commercial roles at chemical specialists MEL Chemicals and later, pharmaceutical supplier Thompson & Capper.

The appointment follows a strong period of growth for the chemical company, having recently hired four new interns and taken space at a prominent office in Manchester city centre.

Through its IP and technology platforms based on iron and manganese compounds, Catexel has delivered commercial value and made significant breakthroughs for issues that industry faces. Catexel’s catalyst portfolio extends into the textiles, coatings, and detergents sectors for use in global manufacturing, with many more untapped markets in the pipeline.

Paul Smith, CEO at Catexel comments: “We’re pleased to welcome Liz to the Catexel team – her experience fits well with our business strategy and we look forward to working with her. It’s a great time to be joining Catexel – following the success of several internship programmes, Liz will also be managing Amy Bishop, the latest Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) intern.

“Liz will be leading the delivery of new market sector opportunities, such as water treatment and anti-microbials – areas in which there a runway of potential and where there is still room to grow.”
